Gleam is all about the moment the sun begins to peek out from behind a cloud. A challenging effect to paint, but makes for a piece bursting with depth and drama. Based on a winter scene from Lake Kainui in the Waikato, the warmth in the highlights of the sky contrasts beautifully with the cool purples in the cloud and water. A painting reminiscent of crisp winter days with pockets of welcoming warmth from the sun.
